DU semester results - ER for 2,350 students
New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has announced the results for Economics (H), Political Science (H), Urdu (H), English (H), Persian (H) and Arabic (H) on Wednesday. According to the results available at DU's website, out of around 8,500 students, over 2,350 students have been placed in the essential repeat (ER) category. Students who had not cleared all the papers in first sitting have been assigned ER.

The declaration of results within 3 weeks has created a history in DU, as the varsity has never results in such a short period of time. A DU official said that announcing results on time was a challenging task; teachers had to evaluate the papers even on Sundays.
DU introduced semester system for all undergraduate courses with effect from this year. However, the varsity has shifted to the semester system across 13 undergraduate courses in 2010. The other streams like Arts, Commerce, Social Sciences and Mathematical Sciences has been shifted to semester in 2011.
The semester system had not been a smooth run as there were confusion regarding attendance rules and mistakes in question papers.
